Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
This policy covers tools.federaltaxdesk.com (the Tools): what the site collects, which companies' code runs on it, and what stays in your browser. Fbaum Enterprises LLC, a Florida limited liability company, publishes The Federal Tax Desk (FTD).
What you type into a tool
FTD's code works out each Tool's result in your browser. It sends your entries to Netlify, FTD's web host, only through the email form and older share links described below. A Tool's compliance card, where one exists, says more. The Terms of Service (section 5) explain whether the federal law on tax return preparers covers what you enter.
Analytics
FTD's pages send usage events to Google Analytics. Each event records the page address and one action: a calculation ran, you clicked a newsletter sign-up link, or you scrolled. No event carries an amount, date, name, or text you enter. Google Analytics also measures pages on its own, under settings FTD controls in Google's dashboard, not in page code. Google's terms govern what Google keeps.
Grow by Mediavine
Pages whose address does not start with /taxpayers also load Grow by Mediavine, another company's script (a small program that runs in your browser) that adds reader features. FTD's code sends it nothing you enter, but Grow runs inside the page, so it can read the page, its address, and your entries and results. FTD's code cannot limit what it reads. Mediavine's privacy policy governs what it collects.
Hosting
Netlify hosts the site and receives every page request, including the page address and your IP address (the number that identifies your internet connection). Netlify's terms govern how long it keeps its request logs.
If you email a result
The "Email me this result" form sends FTD's email function, a small program on Netlify, your email address, the Tool's name, and the result text, which can include your entries. The function passes them to Resend, FTD's email delivery company, and does not log or save the result text. To limit sends, it keeps counts in Netlify's storage per email address, per IP address, and site-wide. It files the first two under a scrambled code made with a secret key, never the address itself. FTD deletes the counts within two days. Resend's terms govern what Resend keeps.
If you share a result
The "Share this result" button, on Tools that have one, builds a link holding your entries and the result. FTD does not encrypt the link, so anyone who has it can read them. FTD stores nothing for it and cannot delete or switch it off. The result sits after the "#" in the link, a part browsers do not send to web servers, so Netlify does not receive it. Grow can read the result on the page. Older links put the result after "/share/"; Netlify receives those when someone opens one.
The newsletter
The newsletter runs on Substack at federaltaxdesk.com. The Tools' sign-up links go to Substack and tell it which kind of FTD link you clicked. Substack's privacy policy governs what it collects.
Cookies and browser storage
FTD's page code sets no cookies (small files a website stores in your browser). It keeps one note in your browser's session storage, which clears when you close the tab: that the newsletter sign-up prompt already appeared. Google Analytics and Grow can set their own cookies; browser settings or an extension can block them.
